Subject: Lesson 4: Learning the Machines

Welcome to day 4!

Now that we're done learning the science behind the water ionizers,
it's time to actually talk about the machines themselves.  And for
that, you've come to the right place.  At Ionizer Oasis, we carry
all the major brands (except for Enagic/Kangen, but we'll get into
that).

Our goal as a company is not to just tell you "oh buy this one,
or go buy that one", but to educate you to the point where you
know exactly which machine is the best fit for your needs, and then
to help you get it as quickly and easily as possible with the best
deal anyone can offer.

I want to begin by quickly discussing why we don't sell
Kangen/Enagic water ionizers.  Now don't get me wrong, they make
a solid water ionizer.  It is a quality machine they produce, but
the problem is their pricing structure.

They are a multilevel marketing company (MLM), which means they
increase the prices of their machines in order to pay multiple
commissions to an eight-level pyramid of affiliate marketers.

In our humble opinion, they basically rip you off - unless you're
looking to get involved in their business to "earn" the money back.

For a machine that would cost around $4,000 from them, you could
get an extremely similar model from another company for under
$2,000. This is why we don't endorse them, though we could if we
wanted to.

Now onto the fabulous companies that we do endorse!  Tyent, Life,
Chanson, KYK,  and Jupiter(Ionways) brand ionizers are the most
reputable and highest quality manufacturers serving the United States,
and we carry them all.

Top Sellers

Our current top five selling models are:
1.  Tyent UCE 9000T
2.  Ionways(Jupiter) Athena
3.  Tyent MMP 9090 Turbo Extreme
4.  Chanson VS-70
5.  Life 9000

What these machines offer that make them all so popular is quality
alkaline water at an affordable price.  Also, they all come with
(at minimum) 5 year parts and labor warranty.  We'll get more into
the details of each machine in a minute.

Important Ionizer Features

In this section I'll discuss the most important features of your
water ionizer, why it is important,  and who is the top performer
in each category.

1.  Plates / Plate Size / Plate Style

Every one of the ionizers we carry has electrolysis plates which
are made of titanium dipped in platinum.  These are the core of the
machine because they are what handle the ionization process of the
water.  There are three major factors that differentiate the plates
in each machine.  Those factors are how many plates it has (either
5, 7, or 9), how large the surface area of the plates are, and what
style of plates it has (mesh or solid).

Let's talk about each element in depth.

The number of plates is important for the ionization of your water.
Nine-plate machines are the newest technology and I highly
recommend you invest in one.  For the small price difference it
really just doesn't make much sense to go with a five or
seven-plate machine (unless money's really tight).

With the two to four additional plates, a nine-plate machine is
much more equipped for ionizing hard water. Also, because there
are more plates, the machine has less work to do in order to get
the desired ionization effect, which will increase the life of
your machine over the long run.

Plate size is another important factor.  Similar to the number of
plates, the size of the plates will determine how easily and
effectively your machine can ionize your water.  Larger plates make
it easier for the machine to handle the electrolysis process, and
will also prolong the machine's life.

Plate style - mesh or solid - is the third major factor in
determining the quality of a plate.  The newer technology is mesh,
which takes a solid plate and puts a super fine mesh coating over
top.  This actually increases the plate's surface area, which
increases its ability to ionize effectively.

So who has the best plates?

Every company has models which boast 7 plates.  Life, Jupiter, and
Tyent use the newer mesh technology (though it costs $100 extra to
get the mesh technology on Life ionizers).  As far as plate size,
Tyent and Life reign supreme.  The biggest plates and plate surface
area in the industry belong to the Tyent MMP 9090 Turbo Extreme and
Life 9000+ series, which both have 9 plates and the mesh technology
(standard with Tyent, available upgrade with Life).

Now that we know about our plates, lets talk about another
important factor: filtration!

2.  Filtration / Filter Replacement costs

Filtration is obviously very important when dealing with water
ionizers.  Ionized water, if not properly filtered, could still be
unhealthy for us to drink.  We need to make sure to get the
contaminants out of the water before we ionize it.

Every company we feature has fantastic filtration in their
machines, but some still come out slightly ahead of the pack.  The
companies which use dual filtration are Tyent, KYK, and Life.
Chanson, and Jupiter utilize one filter in their machines.

This does not make them significantly worse in filtration, but it
can be a small disadvantage in that their filters will need to be
changed more frequently.

Every company utilizes the same basic technology, which is
activated carbon filtration, a proven and powerful method for
removing nasty contaminants.  While the companies vary in the
amount of stages of filtering that the water goes through, they all
have similar results in the end: clean, healthy, potable drinking
water that's ready for ionization.

So who has the best filtration?

If I had to pick a winner for this category, it would be the Life
ionizers.  They have dual filters in every one of their machines,
with 6 stages of filtration in each.  What really sets them apart
from the other companies is that with every Life ionizer, a free
pre-filter is added to the package.

This is specifically picked out for your source water and provides
extra filtration.  Also, they're the only company to offer the
option of UV Light filtration (for an extra $150), which uses a
UV light to "zap" micro-organisms for one final layer of added protection.

Filter Replacements and Costs

Most filters are rated to handle about 3600 liters of water, which is about
1,000 gallons.  This will last your average household between 6 and 12
months, based on machine usage.

As far as the cost of replacing the different filters, all of the companies fall
in the range of $55-$99.  The dual filtration companies like Life, KYK, and
Tyent are all currently about $99 for replacing both standard filters.

3.  Power

The amount of power your machine boasts can have an impact on its
performance over time.  If you think about it like an automobile, a
100 horsepower car can go 60mph but it will take a lot longer and
work a lot harder to get there than a 500 horsepower car.  The same
is true with an ionizer.  Just like with more plates, more power
means the machine will not have to work as hard to get the results
desired.  This can affect the overall life of your machine.  Also, for those
concerned about your electric bill, don't be.  The difference in the wattage
is not likely to significantly affect your bill.

Below, I've listed the top selling machines from above, in order
of most powerful to least.

1.  Life 9000 series - 386 watts
2.  Tyent MMP 9090 Turbo Extreme - 375 watts
3.  Tyent UCE 9000T - 375watts
4.  Chanson VS-70 150 watts
5.  Ionways (Jupiter) Athena - 80 watts
Now that we've discussed power, lets move on to the next factor
we'll discuss in this lesson, which is price.

4.  Price

In a perfect world, people wouldn't have to worry about price, and
would just buy the absolute best machine for their needs.  This
isn't always the case however, and so I've listed the top 5 sellers
again in order of price.  This is from the least expensive to the
most expensive and is a good way to gauge the relative price points
of each company, although to see all the other machines and their
prices/options, I recommend you check out our entire line of water
ionizers here:

Now the top sellers listed by price:

1.  Ionways (Jupiter) Athena $2,195
2.  Chanson VS-70 $2,195
3.  Life 9000 $2,497
4.  Tyent MMP 9090 Turbo Extreme $2,695
5.  Tyent UCE 9000T $2,995
Finally, let's move on to our final fact which we will be discussing
today, company reputation, stability, and customer service.

5.  Company Stability, Reputation, and Customer Service

Water ionizers are still a relatively new technology in the United States.
As a result, there are a lot of companies getting involved in the
distribution of these machines.  However, some are much more reputable
than others.

Now, don't get me wrong, every company we sell for is among the
absolute top tier of customer service and stability in the USA.
We wouldn't carry their machines if they weren't!

But not every company is created equal.  Obviously none of these
companies are planning on going anywhere anytime soon, but
It's good to have peace of mind that your ionizer will continue
to be serviced and replacement filters will be easily available
in the future.
So who is the most reputable company?

If I had to pick a winner in this category it would be Ionways (Jupiter).

They've been in business for over fifteen years in the USA, which is the
longest of any company.  Also, they are the biggest exporter of ionizers
from Korea, responsible for nearly 80% of the total water ionizers
exported.  Simply put, they are the largest and longest standing.

Below is a listing of our manufacturers in order of most stable, reputable,
and level of customer service.  Please remember they are ALL stable,
reputable, companies with quality customer service!  Some are just a bit
ahead of the others.
1.  Jupiter (Ionways)
2.  Life
3.  Tyent
4.  KYK
5.  Chanson

Well, that wraps up today's lesson!  I know it's a lot of
information to wade through, but hopefully this has given you a
well-rounded view of the different companies, different features of
each machine, and what to look for in your selection.

Tomorrow, in our fifth and final lesson, we'll give you a list of
important questions to ask yourself in order to ensure that you
pick out the best machine to match your lifestyle.  We'll talk
about what makes each machine unique, and we'll discuss why there
shouldn't just be a "one-size-fits-all" approach to buying an
ionizer.

Hopefully by tomorrow, you'll have a solid understanding of the
ionizer industry and be a lot more comfortable that you're
choosing the right machine.

Talk to you soon!
